In the first quarter of 2023, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps on the Android platform in the United Kingdom exhibited varied performance across key metrics such as downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Uber - Request a ride maintained its strong presence throughout Q1 2023. Weekly downloads started the quarter at around 27K but dipped to approximately 19K by the end of March. Active users showed more stability, beginning at roughly 751K and ending the quarter at a similar level, despite some fluctuations.

Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a steady trend in weekly downloads, starting at about 18K and seeing a slight decrease to around 14.5K by the end of the quarter. The app’s active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 140K and 165K throughout the quarter.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver saw its weekly downloads grow from approximately 9K at the beginning of January to around 11.5K by the end of March. Active users for the app remained mostly stable, hovering around the 76K to 82K range during the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides had a modest download rate, starting the quarter with about 2.5K downloads per week and ending with approximately 1.8K. The app’s active user base showed a gradual increase, starting at around 7.7K and ending the quarter at nearly 11K.

Careem – rides, food & more had a consistent but lower download rate compared to its competitors, beginning with about 1.9K downloads per week and seeing a slight decline to around 1.3K by the end of March. Active users similarly showed a declining trend, starting at around 5.1K and dropping to approximately 3.9K by the end of the quarter.
